Philsophy
As a teacher engaged in artist process, critical art thinking, and skill building, I have always been inspired by the transcendence of art. For me, art education is as a map to the unknown location that art awakens. In this way, art education provides a tether to what is known, yet establishes a sense of inquisitiveness for the unknown. technical skills obtained along the journey are applicable far beyond the scope of art. A philosophy centered on how we got here, not what it looks like when we do. In my classroom, the journey that brings us to knowledge matters as much as the art created.
